Rhode Island and Massachusetts Nursing Home Injury LawyerJeffrey M. Padwa was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He attended The Nichols School of Buffalo, NY, and graduated from Westminster High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Jeffrey Padwa represents persons abused, neglected and mistreated in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and nationwide. Jeffrey received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, Massachusetts. Following law school, he joined the Providence law firm of Mandell, Schwartz & Boisclair, later renamed Mandell, Schwartz, Boisclair & Padwa. Mr. Padwa left to start a new law firm known as Padwa Law in 2006. Today Mr. Padwa represents persons abused, neglected and mistreatment in nursing homes, assisted living residences and other health care facilities. He is admitted to practice before the Rhode Island Supreme Court, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and United States District Courts for the Districts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Jeffrey was sworn in as President of the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association on September 15, 2006. He is a Past President of the New Lawyers Division of the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) (2002 - 2003), which is AAJ's largest division with 15,000 members. Over the years he has served on AAJ's Board of Governors (2003-2005) as well as numerous AAJ committees, including the Executive Committee (2003-2004), CEO Search Committee (2004-2005), AAJ PAC Task Force Committee (2001-2005), Judicial Independence Committee (2004-present) and Publications Committee (2003-present). Padwa is the Chair-Elect of AAJ's Small Office and Sole Practice Section (2006) and is a two time recipient of AAJ's Wiedemann Wysocki Award for his significant contributions to AAJ (2003 and 2005). His community service activities include serving on the Executive Committee of the Jewish Seniors Agency of Rhode Island, serving as the Chair of the Shalom I and II Oversight Committee of the JSA, as well as visiting nursing home residents in Rhode Island and volunteering at the St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen in Providence. Jeffrey has also been actively involved with Rhode Island youth sports programs. He coached in the Fox Point Eastside Little League (1998–2005), including a Major League team, Eastside Monthly (2000–2005), and served as Vice-President of the Fox Point Eastside Little League (2002-2004). Padwa coached youth soccer teams for Capital Youth Soccer in Providence as well as the Eastside Soccer League and also coached with Brown Youth Hockey. He served as a member of the Board of Directors the Jewish Community Center of Rhode Island (1998-2001), was elected as Assistant Secretary of the JCC (2000-2001), and chaired the JCC’s Pre-School Committee (1999-2001). In 2001, Padwa received the JCC’s Volunteer of the Year Award. He lives in Providence, Rhode Island, with his wife and their two sons.
